New Delhi: Indian warship, INS Kochi on Sunday responded to the maritime safety incident involving an assault on a Panama-flagged crude oil tanker, MV Andromeda Star PM, Indian Navy mentioned in a press release on Sunday.
The distressed oil tanker was intercepted by the Indian Navy ship and an aerial recce was carried out by the Indian Navy helicopter to evaluate the state of affairs.
Moreover, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) crew was additionally deployed onboard the distressed vessel for residual threat evaluation.
A complete of 30 crew (together with 22 Indian nationals) are reported to be secure and the vessel is constant its scheduled transit to the subsequent port, the navy mentioned in its assertion.
